R U OK?Day reminds us that every day is the day to ask, ‘are you OK?’ and start a meaningful conversation whenever you spot the signs that someone you care about might be struggling.
After a challenging few years, it is more important than ever for healthcare professionals to take care of their mental wellbeing. To provide the best possible care to patients and themselves, doctors, nurses and staff need a support network that fosters resilience, emphasises wellbeing and destigmatises seeking help.
To facilitate this support network, our practices took the time to check in with each other on RUOK?Day. Over coffee and morning tea, we talked about mental health, both personally and professionally.
If it seems like something’s worrying a workmate, make sure to check in with them. You could:
If they’re not ok, that's ok. Listen to them without judgement and encourage them to connect with appropriate support. A chat may not be able to ‘fix’ the problem, but it helps to know your teammates have your back.
If you are looking for a supportive work environment in general practice, you’re in luck! We have opportunities for General Practitioners, Nurses and Reception staff.
Whether you're looking for a beach location or a city move, we've got you covered. With ten practices across Queensland, there's plenty of choice.
